DAY 2:
FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK
Following breakfast, we journey to the scenic Arusha National Park. The brief 45-minute drive guides you through a stunning landscape adorned with dense forests.

Arusha National Park boasts diverse wildlife, providing a unique opportunity to observe the intriguing white and black colobus monkeys in their natural surroundings. Alongside monkeys, the park hosts buffalo, warthogs, zebras, wildebeest, and numerous bird species.

Take a tranquil walk through the park, getting up close to the wildlife and maybe even catching a glimpse of some majestic giraffes up close.

An exceptional feature includes the awe-inspiring Tululusia Waterfalls and the scenic Momela Lakes, each showcasing remarkable beauty and biodiversity.

After enjoying lunch in the park and embarking on another extensive game drive, we make our way back to the lodge. Relax in the welcoming atmosphere of Planet Lodge, reflecting on the day’s adventures and looking forward to more memorable experiences on your safari.

DAY 3:
ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park, carrying packed lunches for the journey. The tarmac road trip takes about 2.5 hours and allows us to admire the varied landscape. Along the way, you’ll witness many Maasai going about their daily activities: fetching water, tending to cattle, and trading during market days.

Known for its impressive elephant populations, Tarangire National Park is affectionately called the “elephant paradise”. Witness the grandeur of the ancient baobab trees, the diverse bird species, the seasonal wetlands, and the Tarangire River.

By the riverbank, elephants, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, waterbuck, springbok, and giraffe come together to quench their thirst, always on alert for predators such as lions and leopards.

Enjoy your packed lunch in the park, complete with mineral water, coffee, and tea. The game drive continues until late afternoon before we head back to the lodge in Karatu.

DAY 4:
KARATU TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we commence our journey to the Serengeti National Park, with packed lunches in tow. The path winds through the Ngorongoro Rainforest, providing opportunities to observe various animals such as elephants, buffalo, waterbuck, baboons, and perhaps even leopards.

From lush forests, the terrain gradually changes to open woodland and finally to the endless grassy plains of the Serengeti.

` Midday finds us in the Serengeti, where we pause for lunch before embarking on an unforgettable game drive to observe the park’s enchanting wildlife. Discover the wonders of one of the world’s most renowned national parks, teeming with diverse animals and stunning scenery.

Arriving in the late afternoon, we reach Heritage Camp, where you can enjoy a tasty dinner and look forward to a serene night beneath the African starry sky.

DAY 5 & 6:
CENTRAL SERENGETI TO NORTH SERENGETI
Following breakfast, we embark on a journey to the awe-inspiring northern Serengeti, where we witness the mesmerizing spectacle of the Great Migration up close. This annual migration involves over 2 million animals traversing the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, a natural marvel that will deeply resonate with you.

From July to October, this expedition becomes even more thrilling as wildebeests and zebras cross the Mara River. This stunning event attracts numerous animals seeking grazing areas and water sources. However, the crossing poses risks as hungry crocodiles lurk in the waters, preying on the herds. Additionally, during this period, the northern Serengeti becomes a hub for vultures, patiently awaiting the remains of the migration.

Nonetheless, this area doesn’t just provide the captivating sight of the migration; it also hosts a diverse range of wildlife. From magnificent elephants and graceful giraffes to imposing buffaloes and elusive leopards, the northern Serengeti boasts an impressive array of species.

As you traverse the picturesque landscape of this distinctive region, keep an eye out for a diverse array of wildlife and bird species.

DAY 8:
SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER
After breakfast, we leave the Serengeti behind and journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll encounter mesmerizing wildlife. The drive lasts approximately 3-4 hours and winds through scenic routes.

Formed around two to three million years ago, the Ngorongoro Crater resulted from the explosion and subsequent collapse of a massive volcano. Recognized worldwide for its impressive geological splendor, it also serves as a haven for over 27,000 wild animals.

Spotting elephants, rhinoceroses, buffaloes, lions, and leopards—the celebrated “Big 5″—is a common occurrence in the crater. If you’re fortunate, you may also glimpse the rare black rhinoceros, which sometimes frequents the crater’s open grasslands.

Within the crater, you’ll find three expansive swamp areas, ensuring that migratory animals like wildebeest and zebra remain present throughout the year.

After a comprehensive game drive and a delightful lunch within the crater, our next stop is Marera Lodge in Karatu, where you can enjoy a tranquil dinner to wrap up the day.

BACK TO ARUSHA AND JOURNEY HOME
After breakfast we drive to the airport in Arusha, from where you start your journey home.
