The Great Migration is an annual migration of more than 2 million animals through the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem, an unrivalled natural spectacle that will touch you deeply.

From July to October, this tour is particularly exciting as wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River. This breathtaking spectacle attracts hundreds of animals in search of grazing land and water. But the crossing also harbours dangers when hungry crocodiles prey on the herds. During this time, the northern Serengeti is also a hotspot for vultures, who wait patiently for the remnants of the migration.

However, the region not only offers the fascinating spectacle of the migration, but also a wide variety of wildlife. From majestic elephants and elegant giraffes to imposing buffaloes and shy leopards, the northern Serengeti is home to an impressive variety of species.

    SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER

Following breakfast, we depart from the Serengeti and journey towards the Ngorongoro Crater, where you’ll encounter astonishing wildlife. The drive lasts approximately 3-4 hours and passes through picturesque landscapes.

Formed approximately two to three million years ago, the Ngorongoro Crater resulted from the eruption and subsequent collapse of a massive volcano. Renowned globally for its stunning geological features, it also serves as a sanctuary for over 27,000 wild animals.

Observing elephants, rhinoceroses, buffaloes, lions, and leopards—the iconic “Big 5″—is a highlight of the crater. If fortune favors you, you may also encounter the elusive black rhinoceros, which sporadically wanders the crater’s expansive grasslands.

Within the crater, three vast swamp regions provide a habitat for migratory animals such as wildebeest and zebra, ensuring their presence throughout the year.
