  • DAY 1:
    KILIMANJARO/ARUSHA AIRPORT TO KARATU

    Your guide will pick you up at Arusha airport. On the drive to Karatu, you will experience a varied landscape and can observe the daily life of the Maasai while fetching water, herding cattle and trading in the marketplace.

    You will spend the night at Bougainvillea Lodge, where you can relax after your arrival and look forward to the exciting days that lie ahead.

  • DAY 2:
    KARATU TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

    After breakfast, we leave Karatu and drive through the Ngorongoro Rainforest. Look out for baboons, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and even leopards that can hide in the dense forest.

    The landscape gradually changes from dense forests to open woodlands and finally to the vast grassy plains of the Serengeti. Around midday we reach the Serengeti, where we have lunch.We then continue our game drive to explore the fascinating wildlife of the Serengeti.

    We reach our camp in the late afternoon, where we round off the day with a delicious dinner and look forward to a restful night under the African starry sky.

  • DAY 3:
    FULL DAY GAME DRIVE IN SERENGETI

    Start the day with an early breakfast, as an exciting full-day game drive in the central Serengeti awaits you today. The area owes its name to the Seronera River, which attracts a rich animal population all year round.

    On today’s safari you can see an impressive variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, topis, impala, gazelles, giraffes, lions, leopards, hyenas and perhaps even cheetahs. The Serengeti is also home to an astonishing variety of over 500 bird species that enliven the skies and complete the ecosystem.

    Enjoy the unrivalled beauty and diversity of the Serengeti as you drive through this breathtaking conservation area. In the late afternoon, you will finally return to Heritage Camp, where you can round off the day with a delicious dinner.

  • DAY 4:
    SERENGETI TO NGORONGORO CRATER

    After an early breakfast, we drive from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater. This unique crater was formed around two to three million years ago by the explosion of a large volcano, which then collapsed. It is known worldwide for its impressive geological beauty and as a nature reserve that is home to more than 27,000 wild animals.

    Elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, lions and leopards, the famous “Big 5”, can be observed in the crater. If you are lucky, you may also spot the endangered black rhino, which occasionally appears in the open grasslands of the crater.

    There are three large swamp areas in the crater, which means that migratory animals such as wildebeest and zebra can be found in the crater all year round.

    After lunch and an extensive game drive in the crater, we drive to the lodge in the Karatu area for dinner and overnight.

  • DAY 5:
    VISIT TO THE VILLAGE OF MTO WA MBU AND DEPARTURE

    Today we offer you the opportunity to experience the local culture at first hand by visiting the village of Mto wa Mbu. Here you will have the opportunity to socialise with the locals and learn about their way of life.

    Take a walk to explore the lush rice and banana plantations, which are the livelihood of many villagers. Afterwards, visit the lively local market where you can see the variety of products on offer.

    A special highlight of your visit is the stop at a traditional banana beer brewery, where you can learn more about the local art of brewing and taste the local banana beer.

    At lunchtime, enjoy an authentic local lunch before making your way to the airport in the afternoon for your journey home.
