  • ARRIVAL DAY:

    Upon your arrival at the airport, our seasoned guide will greet you and escort you to the lodge. Once you’ve settled into your room, you’ll have the chance to acquaint yourself with your motorcycle in the evening. Our team of experts will be available to conduct a comprehensive inspection, ensuring everything is ready for your upcoming adventures.

    Following the inspection, you’ll get a chance to enjoy a leisurely test drive to get acquainted with your new vehicle and start getting excited for the thrilling days ahead.

  • DAY 1:
    WEST KILIMANJARO TO LAKE CHALA – 250 KM

    After breakfast at the lodge, we drive to Lake Chala. On our route, we pass both gravel roads and newly tarmaced sections that take us through the fascinating landscapes of the Simanjiro district, known for its tanzanite shafts.

    Our stopover in the small Maasai town of Shift provides an opportunity to refuel before we continue on our way to a hidden gem – the Hot Oasis. We spend our lunch break there and have the option of taking a refreshing dip.

    During our drive, we enjoy spectacular views of the majestic Kilimanjaro, which we circle in a clockwise direction. As dusk falls, we finally reach Lake Chala. There we round off the day with a delicious dinner.

  • DAY 2:
    LAKE CHALA TO SAME – 136 KM

    After breakfast at the picturesque Chala Lake, we take a short walk down to the shore, where there is an optional swim. We then set off and continue our journey southwards along winding but easily passable gravel roads to the imposing Pare Mountains.

    After a lunch break, we continue our route until we finally reach the border of Lake Jipe. From there, the trail leads us uphill into the Pare Mountains, where we can enjoy breathtaking views of the picturesque villages below us.

    The accommodation at Elephant Motel in Same not only offers spectacular views of the southern Pare Mountains, but is also in close proximity to the Mkomazi National Park and Shengena Forest – a perfect setting for unforgettable experiences in the midst of nature.

  • DAY 3:
    SAME TO LUSHOTO HIGHLANDS – 190 KM

    Today promises to be an intense adventure. After breakfast at the hotel, we set off to explore the majestic mountain range of the eastern Pare Mountains. From there, our trail leads down to the southern mountain ranges, where only sandy, hilly and rocky trails await us.

    Our route winds through unspoilt savannah landscapes up to the picturesque Kalimawe Lake, which is surrounded by idyllic rice plantations and small villages. We then continue our journey to the rolling hills near Mkomazi National Park.

    After a day full of adventure and discoveries, we will certainly be tired. At the Irente View Cliff Lodge, we can reflect on the impressions of the day and relax over dinner and refreshing drinks.

    After a lunch break, we set off to explore the beauty of the Usambara Mountains. We wind our way up along winding zigzag roads, past picturesque villages and lush palm forests, until we finally reach Mtae (also known as Mambo Village) at over 2300 metres above sea level. From this unique vantage point, we enjoy an unrivalled view of the entire region.

  • DAY 4:
    LUSHOTO TO SIMANJIRO (MAASAI STEPPE) – 240 KM

    After breakfast, we begin our 240 km drive to Simanjiro, which will take us through different regions and ecosystems. At the beginning of the ride, we are surrounded by lush vegetation. The landscape is characterized by terraced fields, green forests and picturesque villages that blend harmoniously into the surrounding nature.

    On the way through the Maasai steppe, we immerse ourselves in a vast, open landscape characterized by endless grasslands and acacia trees. The Maasai steppe is the traditional home of the Maasai people, who are known for their nomadic way of life and their close connection to nature.

    Our accommodation for the night is a local guesthouse in Simanjiro, which offers us an authentic insight into the way of life and culture of the region.

  • DAY 5:
    SIMANJIRO TO MTO WA MBU – 225 KM

    After breakfast at our accommodation, we set off on an impressive drive through the endless expanses of the Maasai steppe. The route first takes us through the vast grasslands of the Maasai steppe. On the way, we can observe the traditional way of life of the Maasai.

    After crossing the impressive animal migration corridor of Tarangire National Park, the road continues towards Lake Manyara, one of the most beautiful lakes in Tanzania, known for its lush vegetation and abundant wildlife.

    In the evening, we finally reach our lodge just outside the lively town of Mto wa Mbu at the foot of the Rift Valley.

    We end the day with a delicious dinner surrounded by the natural beauty of the region.

  • DAY 6:
    MTO WA MBU TO LAKE EYASI – 200 KM

    After breakfast, we continue our journey along the Rift Valley. The road leads through a varied landscape of savannah-like plains, acacia forests and tree-covered hills. Along the way, we pass traditional villages and may spot wild animals such as zebras, giraffes and monkeys by the roadside.

    After a refreshing lunch break, we leave the Rift Valley and make our way to Lake Eyasi. The landscape now changes to more open grasslands with small settlements of the Hadza community, a hunter-gatherer community that has lived in the region for centuries.

    During the drive to the lodge, we repeatedly pass impressive onion plantations that grow along the route. The green fields lend the landscape a picturesque atmosphere.

    At the end of this eventful day, we finally reach Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge, where we can look forward to a restful night in the midst of the natural beauty of this region.

  • DAY 7:
    LAKE EYASI TO LAKE NATRON – 170 KM

    After breakfast, the journey leads eastwards along winding gravel tracks through varied and impressive landscapes. The roads can be bumpy, but the views of the impressive landscape make the journey an unforgettable experience.

    As we gradually approach the imposing wall of the Great Rift Valley, the mighty Oldonyo Lengai volcano looms at the foot of this natural wonder. Its almost perfect cone rises above an area of astonishingly barren beauty. The volcano, which last erupted in the 1970s, is revered by the Maasai as the home of their god ‘Ngai’.

    We continue on and finally reach Lake Natron, a huge soda lake known for its vivid red colour and abundant birdlife, especially flamingos.

    Our accommodation is located near Lake Natron. It is beautifully embedded in the breathtaking nature.

  • DAY 8:
    LAKE NATRON TO ARUSHA – 240 KM

    After breakfast at the lodge, we set off and cross the hilly country, which is characterised by bush and scattered thorn trees. During our drive, we have the opportunity to observe colourful Maasai herding their cows and goats. Along the way, we may also see antelopes and zebras and, with a bit of luck, even spot a predator.

    The route initially leads over loose gravel and some sand, which makes for a pleasant ride. Later, we follow a normal paved road that leads us to Arusha. From there we continue with our journey to the Hotel in Arusha, where we will have a dinner and an overnight stay.

  • DAY 9:
    FULL DAY IN ARUSHA

    This day is all about relaxation. Enjoy the opportunity to explore the surrounding nature in all its splendour.

    Take part in optional activities, such as an Arusha city tour accompanied by our experienced guide, who will show you all interesting places in Arusha such as visiting a local market, to see how do local people do trade in a market place. You will get a chance of interacting with local by using a local transport from one street to another. Lastly you will visit a Masai market, a place where the local people are selling some souvenirs such as wood carvings, traditional clothes and beads work.

    Another option is driving to an exciting game drive in Arusha National Park, where you can observe the wildlife in its natural habitat in a comfortable safari jeep. Experience unforgettable moments and be enchanted by the beauty of East Africa.

    Last option will be to spend the whole day in your beautiful hotel, enjoying the delicious foods, drinks, nice pool and a wonderful garden with a nice breeze and a view of Mount Meru.

    ARUSHA TO THE KILIMANJARO AIRPORT – 55 KM

    After breakfast at the lodge, we drive to Arusha/Kilimanjaro airport. During this last leg of the journey, you have one last opportunity to enjoy the impressive Tanzanian landscape and reminisce about the past few days.

    Depending on your departure time, you will say goodbye to your A2 Zebra Experience Guide at the airport or stay overnight in Arusha.

    You have the option to prolong your vacation and add a few extra days to your safari adventure, perhaps in the awe-inspiring Serengeti or the captivating Ngorongoro Crater. Delve even further into Tanzania’s pristine wilderness and encounter unforgettable wildlife experiences.
